I am dedicated to providing professional counselling and therapy services that prioritise compassion, empathy, and understanding. I am here to support you on your journey to healing and personal growth.
I am a qualified counsellor and member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have an integrative approach combining person centred and psychodynamic schools.
More importantly for you though, is that I focus on creating a safe collaborative space with you, forging a therapeutic relationship which allows a supported and safe exploration of whatever you wish to examine. I work with both adults, children and young people.
Some things are hard to share with friends and family, the work we do together will help you to find the space you need to examine your thoughts and feelings. The pace and direction of the work will be led by you. Together we will explore your thoughts and feelings, to make sense of your experiences and relationships in your life.
How I work.
I offer face-to-face or online sessions, I will work with you on the phone if that is what you need.
During our sessions, we may explore your childhood experiences, as patterns of thinking and behaving are created when we’re young. Ways of interacting and behaving we learn as children can stay with us when they are no longer helpful, by identifying any such patterns you can put yourself in the driving seat of your own life and follow through more easily on conscious decisions. We may also stay completely in the ‘here and now’, depending on what you bring and what comes up during the sessions; for most of my clients a blend of the two seems to be the most helpful.
I use creative and somatic tools to help you get in touch with your emotions. This may be drawing, cards, guided mindfulness or relaxation techniques or simply asking where in the body you feel an emotion.
I have a broad range of tools, some are designed to encourage deep psychological work and some are more superficial and can bring swift relief for emotions such as anxiety, fear, sadness and anger.
I have experience of working with anxiety, depression, neurodiversity including ADHD and ASD, LGBTQ and trauma. I value the uniqueness of each individual I work with and therefore the diversity in us all.
